Since Atlanta Metro Roofing is one of 2% to 4% of roofing contractors we can offer Workmanship (ten and twenty-five years) and Manufacturer’s Defect (Fifty Year) Warranties that are backed by GAF and transferrable. If your ten-year workmanship warranty from your company is not backed by a manufacturer you are at risk of having to pay for any repairs needed due to workmanship errors in the upcoming years. Some of these errors that will come back to haunt you are FLASHING (many companies do not replace it), HIGH NAILING (some crews high nail the shingles which will eventually loosen), and VENTILATION (cross ventilating which will age your roof prematurely).

Insurance claims are a tricky business, so it’s important to get advice from a company that deals with them every day. If you do get it approved you will save thousands of dollars on a major home improvement. If the insurance company approves your roof for replacement, you will receive a settlement document describing exactly what they are willing to pay for. Keep in mind that in many cases the damages and repairs exceed the amount that they are willing to cover. They will replace what you already have. For example, if you do not have ventilation now, they will cover the cost of adding it in on an insurance claim. Despite the extra added costs you may be responsible for, it is our job as your roofing company to make sure that your roof replacement is completed properly. HOW ARE
SETTLEMENTS DETERMINED?
Settlements are determined by what the industry material and labor costs are at the time of the claim. As the customer, you are only responsible for your deductible plus any upgrades. When the work is complete, you’ll receive two checks. One with the settlement sheet and one after the roof is installed and they have received the roofing company’s invoice. Shopping around for a lower price than the insurance company provided may seem like a smart idea, but it is not. If roofing companies provided estimates it would be more than the insurance company provides. You should only be shopping for a great company that you want to hire to give you the best materials and best labor for your roof replacement. Let’s face it you most likely will not be up on the roof watching the job so you are relying on the roofing company to deliver top quality craftsmanship.
